The TNBC Executive Secretary, Mr Raymond Mbilinyi, told journalists in Dar es Salaam yesterday that implementation of all agreed recommendations during the meeting chaired by President Jakaya Kikwete will be presented at the coming 9th Council’s meeting on 2nd October, 2015.

“Some are just administrative issues which are easy to implement while those that need changes in some laws will have to follow required procedures,” he said.

Explaining further, he said some of the proposals that are being worked out are creation of a special agency that will help make Tanzanians active players in nation building. “Tanzanians should be actively engaged in the running of the economy, they should not be mere spectators,” he noted.

Another area that calls for further actions is having a one stop point where members of the business community for paying licences fee and a special task force has already been formed to deal with this.

“This task force will come out with recommendations on how best this will be implemented possibly digitally,” the TNBC Executive Secretary explained. Among the recommendations also is to increase competencies of people graduating from local universities by attracting rare skills from outside Tanzania with a view of increasing their employment chance.

According to Mr Mbilinyi, members of the meeting recommended to the country to take advantage of the ever growing real estate industry by looking at the possibilities for foreign investors to own houses in Tanzania.

Also to be presented on 2nd October meeting will be a best model to utilize land for the benefit of the majority. “Tanzania has a huge land but it is not surveyed… this needs to be worked on,” he explained, adding that MKURABITA has to be given priority.

On tourism sector, he said using Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement in constructing infrastructure to develop it such as airports will be considered. “Tourism stakeholders also want the sector to be included in the Big Results Now (BRN) initiative to give it more push and develop faster… this will be considered and reported at the forthcoming meeting,” he said
